Good Day to You All

Here we are - another Saturday - another week gone by already.

Let me start this post off with an apology - I AM SO SORRY for being such a bad blogger recently - I have lots of things going on in the background at the moment and I won't be through everything until nearly the end of October, so please bear with me.  I do read each and everyone of your comments and I so appreciate them; I do always nip by and have a look at all your wonderful creations (even if I don't always leave you a message) - you all give me lots of inspiration - so THANK YOU.

So onto this weeks challenge at Totally Gorjuss:

This week's Totally Gorjuss Challenge is "Birds of a Feather" and is sponsored by the wonderful Lili of the Valley.  We can't wait to see what you create and make sure you go on over and have a good look at the amazing creations the wonderful Gorjussettes have made - they are all so talented.

Onto my card for the challenge:

Aw - how cute are they?

The recipe for my card is:

Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 98 - Nothing Square About Me & Some News

Hi Everyone

Saturday again - already - another week has flown by - wow!

I've been a busy bee this week, so busy I haven't even unpacked all the things I bought from the GNPE show!  Can you believe it!  Just want to say a quick "Hello" to Lisa-Jane who kindly offered to meet me at the GNPE for a coffee with some of her blogging friends and they all made me feel very welcome - thanks girls!

On to my news ..... Net at the Totally Gorjuss Challenge Blog has asked if I would like to become a fully fledged Gorjussette - Whoop Whoop - How could I say no.  Thanks Net it really means a lot to me.

So straight on to this weeks challenge which is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp - Northing Square About Me.  Make sure you get yourself over to the Totally Gorjuss challenge blog and check out the absolutely wonderful creations the ladies have made this week.

This was a toughie one for me as you will have already seen from my cards everything is square about me - heh heh.  I've always loved different shaped cards, particularly those nice easel ones but have always been a bit nervous about making one, so if ever there was a push to do one this was it.

So, what do you think?  I was pretty chuffed with how it turned out and was surprised at how incredibly easy it was to make - I've been such a coward lol!  Apologies for the picture - how difficult is it to get a good picture of an easel card!  Hopefully you will appreciate what it looks like stood up straight rather than at an angle.

The recipe for the card is as follows:

Die:  Go Kreate XL Frames Frilly #5
Stamp:  Lili of the Valley "Rose Posey"
Papers:  Nitwit "Promises"
Coloured Card:  Crafter's Companion "Core'dinations"
Flowers & Seam Binding:  Wild Orchid Crafts
Charm & Pearls:  The Hobby House

I coloured the image with Copics as follows:

Skin:  E11 E00 E000 R20 R30
Hair:  E37 E35 E34
Top:  V17 V15 V12
Skirt:  V01 V000 V0000
Shoes:  E29 E27 E25
Socks & Bouquet Wrapping:  E42 E41 E40 B00 B000 B0000
Flowers:  V17 V15 V12 B00 B000 B0000 YG67 YG63
Shading:  W5 W3 W1
Outline:  W1 W0 W00

Everything was edged with "Dusty Concord" Distress Ink and the seam binding was also coloured with it to tone in with the card.  I have to confess I'm not a purple person and I fear I may have over-dosed on it a little too much on this card :os - what do you think?

Right that's it from me - happy crafting and have a great weekend.

Take it easy.

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 97 - Manly

Hi Everyone

This is a scheduled post as I will be on my way to Harrogate for the GNPE (woo hoo) so I hope that it works - if not you won't be reading this post and I'll be a little embarrassed ;o).

So without further ado onto this weeks Totally Gorjuss challenge which is manly:

This week we have been sponsored by Crafter's Companion so make sure you go and check out what the fabulous Gorjussetts' have created - totally fab and some great inspiration.

Here is the card I have created:

The recipe for my card is:

Stamp:  Mo Manning "The Engineer"
Papers:  Scrap Matters "Aviator"
Buttons:  From My Stash

The image has been coloured with Copics as follows:

Skin:  E21 E00 E000
Everything Else:  E49 E47 E44 E43 E42 E41 E40

I have also used a Cuttlebug "Spots & Dots" embossing folder and sanded the top and everything has been edged with Walnut Stain Distress Inks.

The Aviator papers are not this sepia colour - to achieve this I have opened the papers in Photoshop and then changed the colour to sepia tones - cool huh!

That's it from me today - I'm probably sweating at the amount of money I have spent at Harrogate.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

See ya.

A Pressie from the Posty

Hi Everyone

I did promise you that I would show you what I was getting all excited about from the posty - so without further ado here it is ...

Woooo eeeeee!  How lucky am I?

I've been pondering, cogitating, digesting, mulling over buying a larger die cutting machine for a long time but couldn't decide which one to have.

I know there are now a few in the market, but some of them felt cheap and some wouldn't take an array of other manufacturers' dies, then I came across this baby at the GNPE show in March.  I had a little touch, a little play, had another walk around and had a play with other die cutting machines, came back and had yet another play with this one, discovered that it would take all dies and cuts just about anything you could ever want it too - but I still went away empty handed :o(

So, several months later and after lots and lots of research the decision was made - a Big Shot Pro it was.  This machine is mahoosive - look at it compared to by little iddy biddy Big Shot:

All I need to do now is go and get myself some great big dies (good job the GNPE is next Saturday!) and have a jolly good play around.

I will keep you posted.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend.

Cheerio.

Pink Card:  Core-dinations from Crafter's Comapnion
Die Cut Swirls:  Magnolia Doo Hickey
Flowers:  Wild Orchid Crafts

Border Punch:  Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edger Punch

I have coloured the image with Copics:

Skin:  E11 E00 E000

Hair (Groom):  E29 E27 E25
Groom's Suit:  N7 N5 N6 N4 N3 N2
Groom's Shirt:  E42 E41 E40

I completed the image by giving her veil a good dousing with Glamour Dust.

I've just finished a couple of commissions so I am free free free to get myself busy with crafting and getting a few more posts on the go rather than the one a week I am giving you all at the moment.

I will be back later in the day to show you something that has just been delivered to me that I am really excited about.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments.

See ya later.
